Jury finds Anderson guilty of murdering wife's lover
The former chief constable has described the verdict in a murder retrial as ‘utterly right’.
At Douglas Courthouse today (24 May) Ian Anthony Anderson was found guilty of murdering his wife’s lover in 2013.
The body of 60-year-old Neil Edward Roberts was found at his home on 1 December that year.
The 55-year-old, formerly from Castletown, will be sentenced at Douglas Courthouse tomorrow.
Gary Roberts, who retired in March, has described the crime as ‘horrific’ saying the injuries he inflicted on Mr Roberts were ‘appalling’.
This is utterly right. This was an horrific crime and the injuries inflicted on Neil Roberts were appalling. https://t.co/CGWPgHhC6H
