Following the crowning of Mark Cavendish as BBC Sports Personality of the Year, the Manx government has indicated a velodrome could still be built in the Isle of Man.
At present cyclists from the Island have to travel to places such as Manchester and Newport in South Wales to experience such facilities.
Leisure Minister Tim Crookall says the idea will be looked at again:
