Ramsey police are investigating what could have been a serious incident on the Mountain Road this morning.
A small, commercial vehicle travelling out of the town lost its rear, nearside wheels while negotiating the right-hand bend near the 26th Milestone.
The wheels fell onto the roadside without becoming an obstruction to other road users.
Officers say they are open minded about how it happened, and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
