Gov't says milestone to be hit ahead of border change
Government says the Island is on track to have half of all adults fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by tomorrow.
As of this morning 36,086 second doses have been administered - 62,419 people, 86 per cent of the adult population, have had their first.
The 100,000th jab is also due to be administered tomorrow morning.
Health Minister David Ashford says hitting the two landmarks is 'welcome news' and helps prevent people becoming seriously ill and needing hospital treatment for the virus.
He adds: 'This level of immunity adds to our community’s defence against the Delta variant'.
More information, regarding the next stage of the vaccination programme, with a focus on 'booster shots' is set to follow.
