Chief Minister says 'significant increases' are on the way
The Chief Minister is warning that utility bills could rise by a further 40% this winter.
Alfred Cannan's comments come after big price increases to gas and electricity in recent months, which has forced his government to provide additional support payments to those struggling to pay their bills.
Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson is due to give an update on the situation in October's sitting of Tynwald.
Mr Cannan believes the cost of living will continue to increase:
"We think it's inhumane the way he was treated."
