News is awaited this morning on the condition of last year's Sidecar TT 'double' winners, Nicky Crowe and Mark Cox.
They were airlifted to hospital by helicopter, after their Honda outfit crashed and burst into flames on the approach to Ballaugh on the first lap yesterday evening's Sidecar 2 race.
Both men received what were described as 'significant injuries', and the incident led to the race being stopped, and subsequently abandoned.
The accident happened at Ballacob.
Nicky Crowe has five TT victories to his name, and competed with Mark Cox on the Mountain Circuit for the first time last year.
