'Unpleasant conditions' expected around the coasts during red weather warning

The red warning for coastal overtopping comes into force from 1pm 

Isle of Man residents can brace themselves for unpleasant conditions around the coasts ahead of high tide today (9 December), according to a senior forecaster at Ronaldsway Met Office. 

A red weather warning for coastal overtopping comes into force from 1pm, resulting in the closure of Shore Road, Castletown Promenade, Ramsey Promenade, Tent Road in Laxey and the section between Summerhill Road to Port Jack in Douglas from lunch time.

All Steam Packet services have been cancelled, while the Isle of Man Airport is warning the conditions could cause some disruption to flights.
