Private patients unit closing for 12 months
The head of the union Unite says she doesn't believe the private patient's unit was being used effectively.
Debbie Halsall was speaking after the news that the unit was to close for around 12 months to allow for a full re-design of the premises.
The Health Minister says the work is essential and guaranteed that staff working at the unit would be given similar jobs elsewhere.
However, speaking on Mandate this morning, Miss Halsall said she did have concerns about the future of the unit.
