Unite 'not involved' in meetings between MIRS and bus vannin

Unite the Union says it's been 'stonewalled' by the Department of Infrastructure over the bus driver strikes.

Its members are currently taking part in their second round of industrial action in a long-running dispute over pay and contractual issues.

Earlier today (Friday 6 March), the DOI said bus vannin had had two meetings with the Manx Industrial Relations Service (MIRS) this week to try and resolve the situation, insisting it remains ready and willing to have positive and constructive negotiations.

But Debbie Halsall, who's the regional officer for Unite the Union on the Isle of Man, says they've heard nothing from the bus operator since the end of the first round of strikes on Tuesday:

Manx Radio has approached the DOI for a response.

You can find out more about bus vannin's contingency timetables during the strikes here.
