1,034 people out of work in January
More than 1,000 people were out of work on the Isle of Man last month.
New figures show there were 1,034 unemployed in January – up 630 compared to the same period last year.
400 job vacancies were notified to the Job Centre, in the first month of the year, with only 56 positions filled by the end of the month.
The Isle of Man now has an unemployment rate of 2.4% - that’s up from 1.8% in December 2020.
