The Island's unemployment rate has fallen in the past month and now sits at 2.2 per cent.
The August figures released by Treasury indicates a drop of 25 people officially registered as unemployed - a total of 992 people overall.
Despite the decrease since July, the figures are up by more than 160 people from this time last year.
There is a particular surplus in the hotel, catering and bar industry, as well as in the retail and sales work force, where the number of unemployed make up 237 of the total figure.
However, there is some good news as the number of job vacancies available on the Island has increased by over 100.
