Loganair to continue patient transfers until end of May

Funding patient transfer flights with Loganair until the end of May will cost the Isle of Man Government up to £5.5 million.

Government has been underwriting flights with the Scottish airline since border restrictions came into force to ensure patients would continue to be able to attend appointments across, costing £3.38 million up to the end of November.

A six-month extension was agreed in December, with government now estimating the maximum cost will be £5.45 million.

Five airlines expressed an interest in operating routes to and from the Island with government support during the pandemic.
