UK vetting errors not a problem on the Island

Mistakes made by the United Kingdom agency which checks the records of people applying to work with vulnerable people are not occurring in the Isle of Man.

In the year to March, fifteen hundred UK job applicants were either wrongly branded as criminals or mistakenly given a clean record, according to the latest annual report from the Home Office run Criminal Records Bureau.

However, the Island has its own vetting and disclosure system, and the man who runs it, Chief Inspector Peter Young, says he has never known a complaint to be made in relation to any information disclosed.
