Local firms given pick in quid quibble
Island businesses are being given the choice whether or not to accept old UK pound coins.
The 'round pound' will cease to be legal tender in the UK from midnight on Sunday (15 Oct), but Isle of Man Bank says it will continue to accept them to avoid a sudden shock to the currency supply.
Both British and Manx round pounds, as well as new 12-sided UK coins, will all be accepted here.
