Campaigner's concerns over reform proposals
A local civil liberties campaigner has identified 'serious concerns' over proposed changes to the Island's justice system.
One of thirteen sweeping recommendations being put before Tynwald next week calls for the establishment of a 'centralised Citizen Database' of potential jurors.
The Tynwald Select Committee which made the suggestions says it would eliminate the current need for jury members to be chosen from the electoral register.
But Tristram Llewellyn-Jones has called on politicians to oppose the plans - calling them a 'blank cheque' for unwarranted data collection:
