Court backs PSPA's work
Tynwald has rejected a call for the Public Sector Pensions Authority to reconsider its decision on early retirement.
A motion was put forward by Chris Robertshaw, challenging the authority's decision not to raise the minimum retirement age for public servants from 55 to 58.
That had been a key proposed reform to the pension scheme, which Mr Robertshaw argues is vital to ensure long-term sustainability.
Instead, following more than two hours of debate, the court approved an amendment from the authority's vice-chair John Shimmin MHK, for its working group to finish negotiations by the end of the year, and report back by February next year.
Speaking ahead of the votes, Mr Robertshaw was somewhat unimpressed with Mr Shimmin's amendment:
