A well-known gay rights activist says Tynwald Day would be 'pointless' if demonstrations weren't allowed to take place.
Alan Shea was at the centre of a major campaign against Manx laws banning homosexual activity, and famously presented a petition of grievance on the Island's national day in 1991.
Yesterday saw the promulgation of the Island's first Equality Bill, which outlaws discrimination in many forms - including on grounds of sexuality.
