Will investigate if government policies are contributing to issues
A select committee of Tynwald will investigate the demographic challenges facing the Island.
Members supported a motion - tabled by MLC Paul Craine - seeking the court’s recognition of the long-term implications of population imbalance.
The committee will investigate the causes and whether government policies may be contributing to the problem.
Mr Craine says the birth rate between 2010 and 2020 had fallen by 35 per cent:
