Three political members will sit on the panel
Tynwald has voted to review the Sea Services Agreement and the shareholder status of the Treasury with regards to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
It's after Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse sought support for the Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority to assess the possibility of regulating the government-owned ferry operator.
The Island's parliament instead opted for a select committee consisting of MHK's Michelle Haywood, Ann Corlett and Mr Moorhouse, which will report back to Tynwald by September.
The suggestion came from Dr Haywood, who wasn't convinced CURA was the way to go:
