Tynwald banquet costs queried

MHK wants to know cost of meal

The cost of a huge meal and celebration of the Island’s national day for Tynwald members will come under scrutiny next week.

On Tuesday in the House of Keys, Onchan MHK Peter Karran will quiz Treasury Minister Eddie Teare about the cost of the Tynwald banquet in 2015.

Mr Karran also wants to know about discounts given to people for the event, which takes place each year on the evening of Tynwald Day.

Last year, the event at the Villa Marina featured three sets of musicians including Manx Concert Brass and Manx Camerata.
