
Dental charges on the Island will go up next month (April 1st)
This morning Tynwald backed moves by the Department of Health to increase charges for treatment by up to 12%.
In addition to the increases, dental examinations will now cost £18.50
Diagnosis, treatment planning and maintenance work will cost the same amount whilst treatment will be £50.50 and £219 for the provision of dental appliances.
The department says it's the first increase in charges for almost five years.
The increase was approved by 13 votes for, 8 against in the Keys and 5 for two against in the Legislative Council.
Am amendment to the move from Onchan MHK Peter Karran, calling for more investigation into means testing was defeated.
