Statistics revealed in response to Tynwald question
More than 2,400 fixed penalty notices were rescinded on appeal between 2014 and 2016 in the Isle of Man.
The figure has been revealed by Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer in a Tynwald question for written answer from North Douglas MHK David Ashford.
Of the total of 2,433, 803 had been issued for staying for longer than permitted in a disc zone, 384 were for failing to display a parking disc, 288 for failing to display a vehicle licence and 221 were for parking in a prohibited or restricted place.
Mr Harmer says separate records of the reason for the cancellation of a fixed penalty notice are not kept, so the department can't provide that information.
