Twenty-eight per cent of Island nurses 'could retire today'

And almost half could be gone by 2026

Almost half of the Island's nurses could retire by 2026.

A small recruitment pool, and an aging workforce, is posing a 'significant risk' to the number of nurses on the Isle of Man.

Those findings are from a report by the director of nursing which was discussed at the latest Manx Care board meeting.

Nurses can currently retire at 55 meaning 28 per cent of current employees could stop working today.
