Move to reverse concession loss
Campaigners demanding the return of free TV licences for over 75s in the Island, say they're encouraged the issue is to be debated in Tynwald next week.
The concession was removed in the last Budget, as a cost-saving measure. Older pensioners have had to pay for their licence since the start of September.
The policy's been bitterly opposed by forces' veterans' groups - but now North Douglas MHK David Ashford has tabled a motion in Tynwald, calling for the charge to be dropped.
New chief minister Howard Quayle also promised to reverse the policy in his leadership manifesto.
