Householders are being reminded to check their tumble driers after an incident over the weekend.
Crews from Douglas were called to a property in Farmhill after a drier was reported as overheating.
On arrival crews found the householders had managed to isolate the power and damage was confined to the electrical socket.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says tumble driers should be checked on a regular basis, with vents always clear, lint filters cleaned after every use and warm air vented outside the building.
Free home safety visits can be arranged by ringing 647303.
