Delay justified says Cabinet Office
An economic assessment of the TT and Festival of Motorcycling must be 'accurate', according to the Cabinet Office.
A wide-ranging cost/benefit analysis, touted as the first of its kind since the races began, will aim to determine the exact value of motorsport to the Manx economy.
The exercise was due to be completed by June this year, but the Cabinet Office will now report to Tynwald in January 2019.
Political member Dr Alex Allinson says the extra time has been spent 'getting the methodology right'.
A consultation is open to the public until 18 May.
