
A former world motorcycle champion's recent online comments about the TT have left eight-time winner Charlie Williams 'surprised' and 'dismayed'.
In a recent blog, Australian Wayne Gardner called for the event to be banned, labelling it a 'death trap'.
Charlie, who continues to play a part in the event as a respected presenter and commentator on Radio TT, says he didn't realise Gardner felt so strongly about it.
He also dismissed the Aussie's claim that many competitors are lured here by prize money they probably wouldn't be capable of winning elsewhere.
