A stretch of the Mountain Road has been cleared of 50 tonnes of mud and earth that slid across it yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, forcing its closure.
And there is good news, in that the surface of the stretch of the TT course hasn't been damaged.
Department of Infrastructure spokesman Gary Saunders, part of the team which cleared the carriageway, says it's important nothing further comes down onto it (listen to audio file below):
The closed section of the TT course, from Ramsey Hairpin to the Bungalow, reopened as planned at midday.
