R number rises to 4.69 with 81 new cases per day
Four times as many people have tested positive for Covid-19 over the last seven days compared to the previous week.
The latest figures released by the Isle of Man Government show the Island has a coronavirus reproduction number of 4.67, with an average of 81 new positive results registered each day.
This time last week, the R number stood at 1, with an average of 21 new cases each day.
The weekly surveillance report says it's believed the TT period along with recent bank holidays is having an impact on the spread of the virus.
The rise in cases reported by the public coincides in a significant increase in Covid levels recorded as part of the waste water surveillance.
This increase gives the Island the fastest growing rate of Covid cases in the British Isles, with almost four times as many infections reported here compared to any other area.
The data also shows one further Covid death confirmed in the last week, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 108.
Seven patients in Noble's Hospital are positive for coronavirus, but just one was admitted because of the illness, with the rest only testing positive upon admission for other reasons.
