Former Castletown MHK, Elspeth Quayle, has passed away at the age of 92.
Mrs Quayle represented the town for 10 years between 1971 and 1981 and was also a town commissioner and Justice of the Peace.
She left the Island in 1984 when she moved to Cirencester. A memorial service is to be held in the Island, details of which will be made public later.
Chief Minister Tony Brown succeeded her as Castletown MHK 26 years ago and said she had her own distinctive style:
