Sudden passing of Robert Moughtin
A prominent member of the Maughold community has died.
Robert Moughtin served on the board of Garff Commissioners (formerly Maughold) for more than a decade.
Members of the local authority have this morning been paying tribute to a 'greatly appreciated and admired' former chairman, following his sudden passing earlier this month.
Known to friends as Bobby, the Cornaa man made a name for himself through his dedication to the Commissioners, the Whitley Council and the Isle of Man Municipal Association, as well as a number of local social groups.
Mr Moughtin also led a successful merger between Laxey, Lonan and Maughold authorities in 2016.
Garff chairman Nigel Dobson said he will be 'greatly missed'.
