Incredible bravery shown by victims
The communications officer for the Diocese of Sodor and Man has paid tribute to those who gave evidence in the case of a former Island vicar convicted of indecent assault.
Yesterday, (Wed 28th) eighty-two year-old Graham Gregory of Brockfield Park Drive in York was sentenced to four years and four months in prison after being found guilty of three separate counts of assaulting children under the age of 13.
The offences date back to the mid 1970s and 1980s.
Gregory was vicar of St Ninian’s Church in Douglas from 1975 to 1990.
Speaking on Mandate this morning (Thurs 29th) Canon John Coldwell said those who came forward to speak out showed incredible bravery.
