Tribunal decision is not an end to bus dispute says union

An independent tribunal's decision that bus drivers on the Island have not been unfairly sacked isn't an end to the long running bus dispute.

So says National Officer for Unite the Union, Bobby Morton.

The tribunal heard 63 claims from drivers over changes to their terms and conditions, but has come down in favour of the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure by two votes to one.

This morning Chief Executive of the DCCL, Colin Kniveton, said he was pleased the matter has been resolved before the dissolution of the department.

However, Mr Morton says he hasn't yet seen the full written reasoning for the decision and the Union could decide to appeal.

And he adds that he's meeting managers of the bus service next week
