Trial for serving police officer accused of failing to provide breath sample 

48-year-old denies committing offence

A serving police sergeant has been suspended from duty after being accused of failing to provide a breath sample.

Stephen Kenneth Hall, of Ballaugh, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on 8 August.

He’s entered a not guilty plea to the offence which was allegedly committed on 6 July at Police Headquarters.

A pre-trial review will take place on 3 October; the 48-year-old has been bailed until that date.

The Isle of Man Constabulary told Manx Radio: “This matter is now before the court and we are unable to comment further until the conclusion of court proceedings and internal discipline proceedings.”

UPDATE: Mr Hall appeared at Douglas Courthouse on 3 October.

His case has been adjourned for three weeks and he will next appear on 24 October; he's been bailed until that date.
