Trial for man who denies driving dangerously on Mountain Road during TT

51-year-old allegedly drove through one-way barriers at Creg-ny-Baa

A Douglas man who’s been accused of flouting the one-way system on the Mountain Road during TT will stand trial.

Stephen Frank Williams, of Derby Road, denied driving dangerously on the Mountain Road during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.

The 51-year-old also entered a not guilty plea to a charge of failing to conform to a traffic direction on 26 May.

It’s alleged he drove his Skoda through the barriers at the Creg ny Baa, at 4.40am that day, before travelling across the Mountain Road against the flow of traffic.

A pre-trial review will take place on 3 September; he’s been bailed until that date.
