46-year-old enters not guilty pleas
A Douglas man will stand trial after denying taking indecent photographs of children.
The 46-year-old - who can’t be identified due to legislation activated by the Department of Home Affairs this week - appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
He entered not guilty pleas to three offences which were allegedly committed between October 2017 and September 2021.
A pre-trial review will take place on 21 May; there was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison.
This case is the first to come through the court process since Home Affairs and Justice Minister Jane Poole-Wilson 'switched on' the Sexual Offences and Obscene Publications Act on 25 March.
It follows Tynwald approval for one set of regulations and one order last week.
As a result people accused of sexual offences are now given anonymity until the point they plead guilty or are found guilty after trial.
