Treasury to consider DESC pay deal business case

Minister confirms NEU deal yet to be presented to Treasury

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture still needs to present a business case to Treasury after making a new pay offer to the NEU.

It was announced last week that education bosses had agreed a deal in principal, which would see Manx teachers paid at the same rate as those in the London fringe area.

Education Minister Graham Cregeen confirmed in Tynwald this morning, that the case still has to be considered by Treasury:

The DESC's announcement came while three other unions were balloting members over potential strike action.
