Minister questioned about fitness-to-work assessments
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare has come under more fire in the House of Keys over fitness-to-work tests on sickness benefit claimants.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran had asked how much the Treasury had saved in incapacity benefits since Dependability Ltd found 44 per cent of claimants well enough for work.
Mr Teare, however, said he didn’t know – because Treasury wasn’t interested in whether the project saved money.
