Travel area concerns to be highlighted in Tynwald

Statement on Passenger Travel Information Scheme

We should receive an update on freedom of movement for Manx residents around the British Isles next week.

The Policy and Reform Minister, Chris Thomas, will make a statement to Tynwald about government's new 'Passenger Travel Information Scheme'.

Border security was until recently under the remit of the Department of Home Affairs, but has been transferred to the Cabinet Office as uncertainty over Brexit continues.

The Common Travel Area between the UK, Ireland, and the Isle of Man has been called into question by EU negotiators - though both the Manx and British governments both insist on leaving citizens' rights unhindered.
