The Access to Information Bill, which suggests openness and transparency in government, will apply to local government in the Isle of Man.
That assurance has been given by Local Government Minister John Shimmin in his reply to a question in the House of Keys from Onchan MHK David Quirk.
The draft Bill still has to be issued for consultation.
However, Mr Shimmin (pictured) says his department is committed to ensuring local authorities adopt the principles of transparency and corporate governance.
