Minister says move is the best way forward
Education Minister Graham Cregeen says he doesn't believe traffic is a significant issue in the co-location of two primary schools on the Island.
A meeting last night discussed various concerns raised by parents of children at St Thomas' in Douglas and Scoill Vallajeelt, including traffic, segregation and class sizes.
St Thomas' has been branded unfit for purpose by the DEC who now want to co-locate the two schools on the one site at Scoill Vallajeelt.
Speaking on Mandate this morning (Thurs) Mr Cregeen says Scoill Vallajeelt is currently operating well under capacity and the headteachers from both schools believe the move would be positive for both sets of pupils . . .
