Building work at Barclays means money can't be banked
A small business owner in the south of the Island has criticised Barclays Bank after being unable to deposit money due to building works.
Nathan Quirk runs Ballasalla Stores.
He’s told Manx Radio more than 30 percent of his daily takings are cash and the money needs to be taken to the bank in order to be able to pay his outgoings.
"Businesses are already struggling with rising costs and lower footfall. The last thing we need is the added problem of being unable to bank our takings or pay for the stock we need to continue trading." - Nathan Quirk (Owner Ballasalla Stores)
But the branch in Douglas is closed until 9 October - something which he says is a significant issue:
Manx Radio has invited Barclays to respond.
