Legacy left so bed-bound patients can go outside
A local man has gifted the magic of the outdoors to bed-bound patients in time for Christmas at Hospice Isle of Man.
Thomas Emmett died earlier this year. He was cared for by staff there and his favourite pastime was to walk around the gardens.
In his will, Thomas left money to renovate the area so patients confined to their beds can enjoy the fresh air, and views over the hills.
His daughters, Kathy and Susie, opened 'Tom's Terrace', through which they say his memory can be celebrated:
