Ronan says no one can be blamed for the blunder
It's time to put Shoprite's Manx meat labelling mix-up behind us - according to Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Richard Ronan.
The department issued a statement after the supermarket apologised for a number of mishaps yesterday (10 August).
It faced criticism from farmers and consumers earlier this week, after it emerged on social media that a number of imported meat products were mis-sold as 'Manx'.
Shoprite said supplier shortages and labelling equipment errors caused the confusion.
It's now working with DEFA and the Manx National Farmers Union - who reported the mistakes - to ensure it doesn't happen again.
