DoI says there's been a rise in reporting
Transport officials have denied buses are becoming more unsafe, after an rise in reported accidents onboard.
A Freedom of Information request revealed an almost threefold increase in incidents in the last three years - from 12 in 2013 to 33 last year.
But the Department of Infrastructure says that's purely down to better reporting, and the definition of 'accident' expanding to include near misses.
Examples of accidents include passengers falling ill at bus stops, emergency services being called out, and injuries caused by drivers making evasive manouvres.
