Structure outside Sea Terminal features Archibald Knox designs

An illuminated sculpture of the Manx national symbol, the three legs, is set to be raised onto its column tonight in Douglas (Tuesday May 20)

It replaces the street lighting that used to stand on the roundabout outside the Sea Terminal.

The work has been commissioned by the City Council.

The structure, which was first spotted at the location on Friday 9 May, cost thirty-six thousand pounds.

The Three Legs will be mounted on a triangular column this evening, with two sides containing a laser-cut script incorporating an Archibald Knox design.

The scripts and the design will be illuminated from within.
