Somewhere between one and two million pounds of government money will be needed to keep the Island's farming industry going, following the recent snow and freezing conditions.
That's according to Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne, who said it's thought the total number of sheep and lambs lost could eventually rise to around eight thousand.
He revealed the figures live on Manx Radio earlier today.
