New rules allow more debate
A government minister has downplayed the possibility of legislation being held up by new rules in the House of Keys.
The idea of extra input going into debates during the passing of bills through the Keys won almost total support when the vote was taken in there recently.
Only Glenfaba and Peel MHK Geoffrey Boot opposed it.
Mr Boot suggested it might lead to filibustering - lengthy speeches designed to cause legislation to fail.
