
A third candidate has come forward to contest next month’s House of Keys by-election in Douglas West.
Retired fire officer John Skinner, a Douglas councillor, will contest the one seat vacancy when voters go to the polls on May 23.
He says he sees the role of an MHK as a balance between weighing up local and national issues.
Meanwhile, a fourth candidate has also declared.
Clive Dawson was Aide de Camp and Private Secretary to two Lieutenant Governors in the Island - Major General Sir Laurence New and Air Marshall Sir Laurence Jones.
Before that, he was a British Army Officer.
Financial analyst Chris Thomas and taxi driver Martin Moore are the other two candidates.
Nominations close a week tomorrow - Tuesday, April 23.
