'There is no natural weather left' says Tynwald professor

Searing heat across Britain prompts Mr Curran to speak out

The record breaking temperatures affecting the British Isles this week, have been described as 'weather, but not as we know it' by a leading scientist on the Island.

Professor James Curran, chair of Tynwald's climate emergency team, took to twitter and said there is 'no natural weather left' as the UK Met Office reports that Cambridge may have recorded a sweltering 38.7 degrees on Thursday.

Although many parts of Britain have endured the searing heat, the Island has faced milder conditions with Peel recording a high of 25 this week.  

The highest ever recorded temperature on the Isle of Man was on 12 July 1983 at 28.9 degrees Celsius.
